Celebrate Fairbury's History
The first weekend in June gives locals and visitors a chance to travel back in
time when covered wagons and the new railroad were the principle means of transportation
along the trails that cut through the Fairbury area in southeast Nebraska. Join us for a weekend packed full of fun at Rock Island Rail Days! Kick off the summer season with the Jefferson County Historical Society at this railroad-themed festival.
Get onboard with musical entertainment both days from "Cannonball" Paul, America's premier railroad musician and entertainer. Enjoy some favorite railroad folk tunes like "The Wabash Cannonball," "The Rock Island Line," "Night Train to Memphis," and many more!
Julies Hotdogs will be also be serving up delicious hand-crafted hot dog creations from their mobile cart to keep you satisfied all weekend.
Additional activities will include a kid-powered model railroad, museum open house, and a running HO scale layout manned by the Jefferson County Historic Model Railroad club.
Don't miss out on the fun! Admission is FREE!
