Fairbury Nebraska First Friday Art WalkFirst Friday Art Walk Planned For April 3

April 2015 - The April First Friday Art Walk is scheduled for Friday, April 3rd in downtown Fairbury. Beginning at 5 p.m., visitors can enjoy many art forms, including photography, paintings, sculpture and pottery created by local artists. There will be two stops on the April walk – Jefferson County Art Guild and Stagecoach Mall Antiques & Tasting Room. Art Walk participants will get punch cards that will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

Jefferson County Art Guild, Fairbury NebraskaJefferson County Art Guild is located at 511 5th Street, across the street from the Campbell Bros. circus mural. On display for show and sale will be works created by members of the Guild, which meets each Monday for member "paint-ins" and Wednesday evenings for art classes, open to members and the public. April’s featured artist is Lucky Stradley from Hubbell. Stradley is a sculptor and perhaps is best known for the mugs, jugs and bowls with the funny faces. Stradley will be featuring fairy nests and birdhouses during the April Art Walk.  She will also be giving a workshop on birdhouses at the April First Saturday Art Class at Stagecoach Mall.

Stagecoach Mall Antiques and Tasting Room, Chuck Bright, Fairbury NebraskaArtist Cindy Chinn of Chester, NEStagecoach Mall Antiques and Tasting Room, located at 508 E Street, will feature author Chuck Bright of Plymouth. Using the pen name C.L. Bright, he is the author of the newly published children’s book "The Goat Who Wanted to Catch a Fish".  Bright has always had a very creative imagination and began writing children’s books to share his joy of storytelling.  He purposely uses a larger vocabulary (8th grade level) designed to develop and expand the minds and imaginations of young children.  Children of all ages have been mesmerized by his story telling over the years. Bright will be signing books from 5–8 p.m.

Artist Cindy Chinn of Chester, NEArtist Cindy Chinn of Chester, NEArtist Cindy Chinn of Chester, NE has recently completed two commissioned works – hand-carved church pews with stained glass that are scheduled to be delivered to Oklahoma City on Easter Sunday. This Friday evening only, they will be on display at Stagecoach Mall Antiques and Tasting Room during Fairbury’s First Friday Art Walk from 5 – 8 p.m. Don’t miss this chance to get a rare look at these fantastic and inspired works of art. Visitors to The Tasting Room will enjoy a Stagecoach Mall Antiques and Tasting Roomm, An Evening, Fairbury Nebraskawine-tasting event featuring a brand new collection of wines, recently bottled by Glacial Till  Vineyard (must be 21), paired with hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Bob Albrecht. The John Denver tribute band, "An Evening" will be playing live music from 6 – 9 .m. Tickets are $15 per person, available online at www.Fairbury.com or at the door.
