Fairbury Nebraska First Friday Art WalkFairbury Nebraska First Friday Art Walk, Punch Cards, Click HereFairbury First Friday Planned for December  4th

November 2015 - First Friday in downtown Fairbury is scheduled for Friday, December 4th. There are several events planned for families and visitors of all ages. Festivities begin at 5 p.m.

Festival Of Trees, Fairbury NebraskaDecember’s First Friday will include the Festival of Trees, sponsored by the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce and Barber Furniture. A variety of decorated trees will be on display at the Jefferson County Courthouse and Barber's. Santa and Mrs Claus will arrive by horse-drawn wagon at 5 p.m. and will be available for photos inside the courthouse. Free wagon rides by Kirk Schroeder around the square from 5 – 7 p.m., a visit from Frosty and the Grinch, plus seasonal entertainment are planned. For more information, call 402.729.3000.

Christmas Bakery and Boutique, Fairbury Nebraska Methodist ChurchThe Annual Christmas Bakery and Boutique will take place at the Methodist Church at 6th & E Streets. Homemade bakery treats and Christmas items will be for sale, plus a gift-wrapping center. The boutique is open Friday evening until 7 p.m.

Author Ron Schwab, Fairbury NebraskaFairbury Author, Ron Schwab, will be at Sisters Used Books on the north side of the square for a book signing event from 5 to 8 p.m. Schwab has published three new Western novels, Sioux Sunrise, Night of the Coyote, and Paint The Hills Red.  A member of the Western Writers of America, Western Fictioneers and Mystery Writers of America, Schwab will be on hand to sign copies of his latest novels.

Pam Hoge, Fairbury First Friday Art Walk, Fairbury NebraskaThe First Friday Art Walk will feature two artists, Pam Hoge of Hubbell, NE and Colleen Anderson of Alexandria, NE.  Hoge will be displaying her works at the Jefferson County Art Guild. A "renaissance artist," Hoge has been creating art since she was very young, including fabric art, ceramics and porcelain art, mosaic and glass art, painting, keepsake originals and fairy gardens. Hoge is also a writer, having published a book of poetry.

Colleene Anderson, Fairbury First Friday Art Walk, Fairbury NebraskaColleen Anderson has been designing jewelry from "found" objects since 2006 and will be featuring a brand new "Black and Crystal" collection of jewelry at Stagecoach Mall Antiques & Tasting Room. On display will be necklace pieces, some simple silver and gold chokers with black and crystal pendants on them, crystal earrings and 69 vintage and Christmas holiday brooches.

Kyle Knapp, Fairbury First Friday Art Walk, Fairbury NebraskaLive music by folk singer Kyle Knapp will begin in The Tasting Room at 6 p.m. A wine tasting featuring Glacial Till Winery paired with hors d’oeuvres by Chef Bob Albrecht is also scheduled from 6 – 9 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 402.613.2064 or online at www.Fairbury.com. Proceeds will benefit future art projects in downtown Fairbury.
