Fairbury First Friday, Fairbury NebraskaFairbury "First Friday" Art Walk  November 2nd

October 2012 - Plans are underway for downtown Fairbury’s art galleries and specialty stores to be open once again for "First Friday" coming up Friday, November 2nd.  Venues will be opening their doors to visitors from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part of the "First Friday Art Walk" in historic downtown Fairbury.

The November Art Walk will include 4 stops and participants in the walk will be given punch cards which can be picked up at any of the participating Art Walk locations. Punch cards can also be downloaded by clicking on the coupons link on Fairbury.com. With punch cards in hand, visitors are encouraged to visit each stop on the Art Walk to have their card stamped. Completed cards for November can then be turned in at Stagecoach Mall Antiques and Tasting Room to receive a special gift. All completed cards will then be placed in a drawing for a grand prize. The winner of the October Art Walk Grand Prize, a decorated pumpkin, courtesy of The Jefferson County Art Guild was Janette Warnke of Fairbury.

Stradley discovered the wonderful world of making faces on functional pottery in May of 2009. "I love mud. I love making faces. I love making faces in the mud. Gosh, I am the happiest when I have mud all over my hands and my apron and a cute little ugly face is looking back at me from the mud."

Visitors to New Earth Clay Pottery during the November Art Walk will have an opportunity to meet Stradley and learn first-hand about her work. Stradley’s works will be on display and for sale at New Earth Clay Pottery throughout the month of November.
