March 2013 - "A History of Hats" will be the theme for a special program to be held at Stagecoach Mall Antiques and Tasting Room in downtown Fairbury on Sunday, March 17th beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Sue McLain, collector of vintage fashions and owner of Yesterday’s Lady in Beatrice, NE will give a presentation about the history of hats from the Victorian era all the way to the 1960s. Attendees will see a wonderful display of vintage hats. According to McLain, "Guests will take a trip through time, learn about fashions from the past and leave with a greater appreciation for why we should treasure these artifacts."

Immediately following the program, a Ladies Victorian Tea Party will feature afternoon tea with a selection of tea sandwiches and desserts. A history of tea and tea time traditions will be presented.

Tickets for the event, which includes the program and afternoon tea, are $15 per person and available by calling Julie Katz at 402.613.2063 or by logging on to www.Fairbury.com. Limited seating is available and reservations are required.
