UP’s Big Boy to stay overnight in three Nebraska towns on 2021 tour. By Elic Chisam

UNION PACIFIC BIG BOY LOCOMOTIVE WILL STOP IN FAIRBURY AUGUST 8.  The final overnight stop in Fairbury will begin at 5:30 p.m. CDT Sunday, Aug. 8. before the Big Boy leaves the southeast Nebraska town at 9 a.m. CDT on Monday, Aug. 9.

CHEYENNE, WY — More details on the Union Pacific’s Big Boy 2021 tour have been revealed.The legendary Union Pacific locomotive will make overnight stops in Sidney, North Platte and Fairbury in Nebraska while on its month-long journey.

The train will arrive in Sidney at 2 p.m. MDT on Thursday, Aug. 5. It will leave on Friday, Aug. 6, at 8 a.m. MDTIt will then pull into North Platte at 2:30 p.m. CDT on Friday. The No. 4014 will stay there on display until Sunday morning when it leaves at 8 a.m. Sunday.

The final overnight stop in Fairbury will begin at 5:30 p.m. CDT Sunday, Aug. 8. before the Big Boy leaves the southeast Nebraska town at 9 a.m. CDT on Monday, Aug. 9.The locomotive will also make brief stops in Kimball, Ogallala, Cozad, Kearney and Hastings in Nebraska and Julesburg, Colo.The full schedule can be found here.
