Handi-Bus Local Transportation

Looking to do some shopping or spend time with friends or family in Fairbury? Or maybe you just need to get to an appointment. Transportation for local pickups and drop-offs is available to seniors. At $2 per stop, the Handi-Bus will take you where you need to go.

The transportation office even has a punch card available for purchase, which can be used around town.

Handi-Bus Out Of Town Transportation

The Handi-Bus also provides out of town transportation to a number of communities around Fairbury. It costs $8 round trip. The Handi-Bus leaves Fairbury at approximately 9:45 a.m. and begins the trip home around 2:30 p.m.

Here is a schedule of stops:

  • MONDAY stops – Daykin, Alexandria, Powell, and Gladstone
  • TUESDAY stops – Thompson, Reynolds, and Hubbell
  • THURSDAY stops – Endicott, Steele City, and Diller
  • FRIDAY stops – Jansen, Harbine, and Plymouth

Please call three to four days in advance to schedule out of town transportation.

Handi-Bus Lincoln/Beatrice Transportation

Enjoy a trip to Lincoln and back for $22 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you just want to go to Beatrice, instead, the Handi-Bus can drop you off on its way to Lincoln and pick you back up when returning to Fairbury in the afternoon.

The pickup and drop-off location for trips to Lincoln and Beatrice is the Ray’s Apple Market parking lot in Fairbury, and transportation to and from the Ray’s Apple Market parking lot is free of charge. Please call at least 24 hours in advance when scheduling.

The Handi-Bus will arrive in Lincoln around 9:45 a.m. and depart Lincoln around 2:30 p.m.
