Linscott Media announces the purchase of Fairbury.com, from Julie Katz and Main Street Consulting Group. The sale was finalized Thursday (Dec. 21).
“I want to thank Julie for all of her years of innovation and support through Fairbury.com. Not much will change with the site,” Tim Linscott, owner of Linscott Media. “We will be doing some minor changes to the look, but the same essence of Fairbury.com will remain.”
Linscott noted that there will be some upgrades to the site, including a shopping cart option, which will allow visitors to the site to purchase items, such as the new FJN imprint book, “Nebraska at War,” and new Fairbury city T-shirts and Fairbury Jeffs shirts.
Lena Garner, main designer for Fairbury.com, will be joining the Linscott Media family. She will be leading the digital division of Linscott Media, including website building, website maintenance and app development. “Lena will be a tremendous asset to the company, working closely with myself, Jennifer (Lewis) and Trevor (Gill) to take things to the next level,” Linscott said. Fairbury.com was started by Katz in 1997 and continues to be a leader in providing information to the community every single day. “
Fairbury.com was started as a community development and economic development tool, ensuring Fairbury’s online presence for the recruitment of businesses and individuals to the community,” Katz said. “The format was designed to always be positive, never negative. What started out as a one page site has grown to over 2,500 pages of content, drawing visitors to the community and promoting business, industry and tourism opportunities. I am grateful to Tim for seeing the value in keeping the website viable, being such an important tool for the past 20 years.”
