- The Fairbury Public Library has an internal computer system with some new options for patrons. If you have an e-mail address or a cell phone with a text plan you can receive a notice three days ahead of when your books are due as well as be informed of any overdue books or books on hold for you. Online through the card catalog page on this website you can log in to your library account using your card number and password (phone on file) and review books you have out, place holds on titles you want and update your contact information. You can also create a list of books you have read or wish to read using the bookmark option.
- If you cannot come to the library to pick up books, now would be a perfect opportunity to take advantage of our electronic resources. E-books and audiobooks can be downloaded from Overdrive, audiobooks and magazines can be downloaded from RBDigital, and you can learn a new language from Mango. All you need is your library card number. Please call (402-729-2843) us if you have questions about accessing these resources, or anything else, during this time.
With guidance from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Phase II Directed Health Measure, the Fairbury Public Library can once again open our doors to the public beginning June 1st. We are asking that patrons wear a mask, respect social distancing, and limit the number of people in their party who enter the library. A limited number of computers will be available for one 30 minute session/day. No children’s computers or gaming at this time. Our internet will continue to be available from our parking lot during our open hours and will not require a password to log on.
Our doors will be open M-F, 10 am – 6 pm. No evening or Saturday hours at this time. We are happy to continue offering curb side service for patrons who would rather not enter the library. Call ahead (402-729-2843) or use our online catalog, https://fairbury.biblionix.com/catalog/, to reserve materials. Times or services may change with little or no notice as the situation evolves.
