Husker Rehab

Background

Husker Rehabilitation & Wellness Centers, PC, known more commonly as Husker Rehab, first opened its doors in the 1990s and has been striving to provide quality care and wellness options to individuals throughout southeast Nebraska ever since. The positive attitudes and dedication of the physical and occupational therapists and other staff members continues to earn Husker Rehab the trust, respect, and loyalty of its patients. Over the years, Husker Rehab has grown in size and now includes the Fairbury clinic, along with one in Beatrice and two in Lincoln. They are co-owned by three experienced physical therapists, Greg Cromer, Ryan Wade, and Michael Zalman.

At Husker Rehab, the staff recognizes the importance of addressing the root causes of their patients’ problems, satisfying individual health and fitness needs efficiently and effectively, and creating a fun and encouraging environment in which they can work to improve and/or maintain their wellness.

Meet Greg Cromer, M.S.P.T.

In addition to fulfilling his role of co-owner, Cromer is active in the day-to-day operations of the Fairbury Husker Rehab clinic. He and his staff, which includes Melissa Cromer, MS OTR/L, are able to offer quality physical and occupational therapy services to the community. Cromer carries a full patient load, provides medical coverage to local high schools, and is trained in the Graston Technique to break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. He is also an LSVT BIG Clinician, providing specialized treatment to help improve limb and body movement impairments in those with Parkinson’s disease, which can potentially translate into better balance, speed, and quality of life in the short term.

Cromer knew he wanted to be a physical therapist from the time he was in junior high, as he possessed a true passion for helping others to feel and perform their best. So, after graduating from high school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychobiology from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska and then a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Having grown up in the small town of Utica, Nebraska, it was his dream to eventually return to a rural area and own his own clinic, so that he could provide the quality care that is sometimes difficult to find. His dream was fulfilled with the opening of Husker Rehab in Fairbury, Nebraska!

Why Husker Rehab of Fairbury?

At Husker Rehab, the staff will strive to get you relief as quickly as possible, while also helping to produce long-lasting results and reducing the likelihood of future issues. In order to provide the best and most effective treatments available, the staff is constantly learning and growing in their individual areas of expertise. They attend seminars, host guest speakers, and network with other professionals, thus enabling them to remain up-to-date on medical advances and better serve your needs.

The staff also understands that it is essential to really listen to their patients and get to the root of their issues, instead of just treating the symptoms. As a result, Cromer’s physical therapy patients are treated from a more holistic approach, correcting postural issues first and utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, before also incorporating more conventional therapies and exercises. This is one of the many factors that make Husker Rehab’s approach to physical therapy so unique and effective.

In addition, there is always a warm smile to greet you at the clinic, which immediately makes patients feel welcome and cared for. A

family-like atmosphere also gives patients the support and motivation needed to push through difficult challenges and come out stronger on the side.
