The third weekend in September marks the Steele City Flea Market & Living History Weekend. Steele City is located just 12 miles southeast of Fairbury on Hwy 8.

Steele City Flea Market and Tractor Show is Planned

Tractors and Treasures which is the Steele City Flea Market and Tractor Show is planned for September 19-20. The two-day event will follow the phase 3 COVID rules and regulations under the Directed Health measures. This includes no more than 8 individuals in a group, with 6 feet of separation. Masks are recommended but not required and there will be Hand Sanitizers on the grounds. According to Dennis Kenning, promotional chairman, we would ask that people stay home if they feel ill or you have underlying health risks. People will be on the grounds that their own risk.
At this point in time, only the garden tractor pull will not be at the event due to insurance requirements. According to Kenning, some of our events such as the Tractor Pull, Drive, and Parade setup well with the COVID rules and Social Distancing. People need to keep in mind that the situation can change for the better or the worst and the event will need to adjust accordingly.
The event includes a 2-day Tractor Show and the Antique and Stock Tractor Pull Classes held on Saturday. Sunday includes the Tractor Drive and Parade, with a Church Service planned for the afternoon. There will also be a Blacksmith Demonstrations at the Blacksmith Shop. A live band will play both days starting at 11:00 am. At this time, the Nebraska State International Tractor Association is planning to attend. A Flea Market is planned and vendors should contact the Depot for space at 402-729-5131.
