The third weekend in September marks the Steele City Flea Market & Living History Weekend. Steele City is located just 12 miles southeast of Fairbury on Hwy 8.
Steele City Flea Market and Tractor Show is Planned
Steele City Event Planned for September 17 & 18
The 52nd Steele City Flea Market & Tractor Show called “Tractor and Treasures” is planned for September 17 and 18 in Steele City. The two day event will include a car show, tractor show, drive, and parade.
The antique tractor pull will be held at the schoolhouse grounds with the return of the Garden Tractor Pullers who are part of the “Huff and Puff” League. Live music by the Iowa group called “Down Home” will provide entertainment both days and a church service by the Steele City Presbyterian Church is planned for Sunday.
New this year will be an Antique Farm Truck Show on Sunday and can include Semi Tractors, Straight Truck, pickups, and doodle bug tractors.
The two day event is sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society and the event is held free to the public.
The Tractor and Treasures committee is currently seeking sponsorship to support the event.
