Senior Diner Meal Price Change

Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging in Southeast Nebraska and serving the following counties:  Thayer, Jefferson, Gage, Pawnee, Nemaha, Johnson, Otoe and Richardson, will be increasing their suggested contributions of 60+ meals to $6.00 and Under 60 meals to a charge of $9.00, effective September 1, 2023.  These increases are necessary as the gross cost of purchasing and producing the noon meal for citizens has increased above and beyond the current $5/$7 charges.  Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging operates under the Older Americans Act guidelines that state all 60+ meals are suggested contributions.  However, these meal contributions are a major part of our budget, which enables the continuity of the meal service.  However, if a citizen cannot afford a meal, they will not be turned away.   Please direct all questions and concerns to Carla Frase, Director at 1-888-989-9417 or [email protected].
